Extract from its description: :
During the summer the building can change its form or, like a butterfly, unfold its wings for extra shelter during rainy days.
The addition is for a house from the year 1800, located on the banks of Ovre Gla Lake in the Swiss nature reserve of Glaskogen.
Regulations limited the amount of construction that could be done on the exterior of the building and proscribed a 4.5 meter green space around the stream that encloses the area. 24H came up with a telescoping cabin, adding to the usable surface and arching out over the stream. This accentuates the organic shapes of the design, which emulates the rustic surroundings.

The king of irony...

Strange Fruit

In 1937 Abel Meeropol, a Jewish schoolteacher from New York, saw a photograph of the lynching of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith. Meeropol later recalled how the photograph "haunted me for days" and inspired the writing of the poem, Strange Fruit.
Meeropol, a member of the American Communist Party, using the pseudonym, Lewis Allan, published the poem in the New York Teacher and later, the Marxist journal, New Masses.

After seeing Billie Holiday perform at the club, Café Society, in New York, Meeropol showed her the poem. Holiday liked it and after working on it with Sonny White turned the poem into the song, Strange Fruit. The record made it to No. 16 on the charts in July 1939. However, the song was denounced by Time Magazine as "a prime piece of musical propaganda" for the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP).

Meeropol remained active in the American Communist Party and after the execution of Ethel Rosenberg and Julius Rosenberg he adopted their two sons. He taught at the De Witt Clinton High School in the Bronx for 27 years, but continued to write songs, including the Frank Sinatra hit, The House I Live In.

But they don’t really know where to turn. And that’s the very sad thing. I think there’s going to be a lot of very traumatized people. That has hit very hard.

Taylor Mali is considered to be the most successful poetry slam strategist of all time, having led six of his seven national poetry slam teams to the finals stage and winning the championship itself a record four times before anyone had even tied him at three, Mali was one of the original poets to appear on the HBO original series "Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry." Viswanathan Anand of India is the new world champion.
Anand, the world’s top-ranked player, won the World Chess Championship in Mexico City that ended yesterday. He dominated the 14-round event, winning four of them and losing none through Round 13.
This is the second time Anand has been world champion. In 2000, he won the World Chess Federation’s championship, held in Tehran and New Delhi. At the time, however, there was a rival claim for the title, and Anand was not universally acknowledged as champion. This time is different. The title was unified last year, and there is only one champion.
In Mexico City, Anand was in deep trouble only once, in Round 13 against Alexander Grischuk of Russia, but he squeaked through. Throughout the tournament, Anand demonstrated superior preparation and resourcefulness compared with his competitors.

From 1910 to 1940, tens of thousands of immigrants entered the United States through the West Coast's Angel Island Immigration Station. Located in San Francisco's north bay, not far from Alcatraz Island, the buildings were nearly forgotten and their history practically lost, until one day Alexander Weiss, a California State Park Ranger, re-discovered them in 1970. His chance discovery began the long journey to save the Immigration Station, and ultimately, to save the stories hidden within it, and to help us remember its sad, but important role in American history.

How can my Muse want subject to invent,
While thou dost breathe, that pour'st into my verse
Thine own sweet argument, too excellent
For every vulgar paper to rehearse?
O, give thyself the thanks, if aught in me
Worthy perusal stand against thy sight;
For who's so dumb that cannot write to thee,
When thou thyself dost give invention light?
Be thou the tenth Muse, ten times more in worth
Than those old nine which rhymers invocate;
And he that calls on thee, let him bring forth
Eternal numbers to outlive long date.
If my slight Muse do please these curious days,
The pain be mine, but thine shall be the praise.
